A beautiful huge wave breaks on the most dangerous spot in Nazare.

Story behind the image:

This image was shot on the first big swell of the season, on 27th October 2015 and there were only three or four jets on the water.
Sebastian Steudtner, Eric Rebiere and Pedro Scooby got a few bombs but this was my favorite wave of the day. The perfect imperfection of this wave with a strange but beautiful shape, so heavy, absolutely detonating on the most shallow spot of the beach is something to behold. Imagine being caught over there and one of these exploding in front of you... can anyone survive that?
The colors were gorgeous, I love ocean images where the background is super dark and the foreground is lit by a strong sunlight. This was the case and the dark blues give a nice contrast with the white foam and bright yellow sand. The couple going for a walk helps to put the wave's size in perspective. It's big, heavy and unrideable.
Definitely one of my favorite images I shot in Nazare.
